Zouk Mikael International Festival 2014
In its 2014 season, the Zouk Mikael International Festival (July 31-Aug. 7) has three major acts in its lineup. The program hopes to appeal to a diverse audience, with opera, indie rock and classically inflected Arabic music on offer.
July 31rst 2014: Bryn Terfel with Monica Yunus accompanied by the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gareth Jones
The world’s most in demand baritone Bryn Terfel is joined by soprano Monica Yunus for what is sure to be a magical performance.
August 2nd 2014: Light FM 25 Years – Music Celebrated
Light FM Lebanon was born 25 years ago out of passion for music, and it’s that passion that defines who we are. Therefore, for our 25 year celebration, we decided to celebrate music, by having Lebanon’s rising talent revisit the biggest hits of our airwaves during one night, in the magical setting of the Zouk Mikael International Festival.
On August 2nd, come and discover what the Lebanese youth have to offer, with bands like مشروع ليلى Mashrou’ Leila, Who Killed Bruce Lee, The Wanton Bishops, Pindoll, sandmoon, and Loopstache giving their versions of your favorite hits and introducing you to their own sound. The show starts at 6pm and ends late, with 6 bands taking the stage, followed by your Light FM DJs.
August 7th 2014: Mike Massy meets Sary Khalife & Ayad Khalife in NASEEJ
A musical Journey from East to West, Medieval to Andalusian, Ancient to Contemporary, with a SUFI SOUL.
NASEEJ in ITS WORLD PREMIERE is staged by director Nagy Souraty and its album produced by the Zouk Mikael International Festival before the world tour starts.
