A lot of new additional features, soon on Twitter
Social media platform Twitter has announced it will soon upgrade its service to allow users to fit more into their tweets, with a range of evolved features.
The modifications, to come into effect over the next couple of months, will include changes to settings for @names and media attachments, which will no longer count toward the 140-character count; new Retweet and Quote buttons to allow users to re-distribute their own Tweets; and the abolishment of the “@” sign, meaning new Tweets that begin with just a username will reach all relevant followers.
According to Twitter, the updates have “a significant impact” on Tweets, with the platform also exploring ways to make existing uses easier and enable new ones, without compromising brevity and speed.
These latest changes follow a raft of additional features recently added by Twitter, including the ability to poll the user’s community, react quickly with GIFs, and share and enjoy Periscope broadcasts in Tweets.
