The BBC’s long-running crime drama Silent Witness is back
Emilia Fox, Richard Lintern and David Caves return in the award-winning crime drama Silent Witness with series 19 premiering exclusively on BBC First from Tuesday 28th June at 21.00 KSA.
Silent Witness follows a dedicated team of forensic pathologists who try to work out how and why the victim died. Dr Nikki Alexander, Dr Thomas Chamberlain and Dr Jack Hodgson work at the renowned Lyell Centre, where their expertise sees them drawn into a whole range of investigations. Each story is told over two episodes.
This series – which regularly pulls in up to 9 million viewers in the UK – sees Nikki in a chilling, paranoid thriller – The Dying of the Light. When Nikki arrives at a murder scene, she soon realises it is a carbon copy of a case from her past, and she suspects that the killings are personal to her. But who will believe her, and who can she trust?
Flight tells the story of a British woman who returns secretly to the UK. She falls under suspicion of the police when her activities suggest possible involvement in jihad in the Middle East. The team must uncover the real reasons for her return.
In Life Licence the team is thrown into the uncertain world of prisoners released on licence when a murderer is found brutally killed at his home. Suspicion lands on a notorious child killer, also recently released from prison.
The accidental killing of a young Polish girl by a police armed response unit sparks an internal investigation in Rules of Engagement. Jack creates tension when he finds himself aligned with a police complaints officer hell-bent on justice for the girl’s family.
In the final story, River’s Edge, a gunman targets seemingly random picnickers in a remote countryside location. But the investigation soon reveals deep family intrigue. Just as Nikki and Jack begin to discover the truth, they find themselves launched into the dangerous underbelly of a criminal world.
This year, Silent Witness will celebrate a milestone – its 20th Anniversary.
