OTRAS MIRADAS | OTHER VIEWS : 4th Festival of Ibero-American Cinema
The Embassy of Spain in Lebanon and the Cervantes Institute of Beirut in collaboration with the Metropolis Association and the Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela and the consulates of El Salvador, Portugal and Peru, are pleased to present the 4th edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival OTRAS MIRADAS | OTHER VIEWS.
This new edition will be held between the 31st of October and the 8th of November 2013 at the cinema Metropolis Empire Sofil with a broad selection of 11 feature films currently expressed by the cultural identities of the Ibero-American world.
It will open with the Spanish film “Mientras Duermes” (2011) that won 6 Gaudi Awards and the main actor Luis Toscar was nominated at the Goya Awards for Best Actor in 2012.
Several nominated and award winning films will also be screened such as, the Argentinean film “Días De Vinilo” (2012) winner of the special jury award in the Festival of Malaga in 2013; the Mexican film “Años después” (2011) which won the Filmeweb award for Best actress and Best film in 2012; the Colombian film “El Amor en los Tiempos del Coléra” (2007) that was nominated at the Golden Globes for Best Song; the Uruguayan film “Artigas la Redota” (2011) which won the prize for Best film in the Gramado Film Festival and the Peruvian film Mariposa Negra which won the prize for Best Actress at the Biarritz International Festival of Latin American Cinema (2006) and was nominated for Best Spanish Language Foreign Film at the Goya Awards.
Also scheduled in the program several distinctive films such as, the Brazilian film “Vendo ou Alugo” (2013); the Portuguese film “Florbela” (2012); the Venezuelan film “El Chico que Miente” (2011); the Chilean film “Qué pena tu vida” (2010) and “El Cadáver Exquisito” from El Salvador.
