Lana Del Rey – Ride [video]
It is finally here… Lana Del Rey has released the music video for her song “Ride” and it really is beautiful!
“Ride” is the lead single off her upcoming re-release Born To Die: Paradise Edition.
The 10 minute clip is an ode to the open road and to living life with a string of lovers. From biker dudes to older men in motels, Lana has been there and she apparently she loved every minute.
The video opens with a lonely Lana swinging on a tire swing in the middle of the desert while a voice over monologue plays.
“I was in the winter of my life — and the men I met along the road were my only summer. At night I fell asleep with visions of myself dancing and laughing and crying with them. Three years down the line of being on an endless world tour and my memories of them were the only things that sustained me, and my only real happy times…”
Throughout the video we see Lana with a few different men in seedy motels, on the back of a motorcycle and at one point bent over a pinball machine!
The video then takes us to some biker bonfire in the desert where everyone is shooting guns and fireworks and playing with fire. Lana wields a small pistol while she dances around in a Native American headdress.
Then we see Lana and her suitors rolling around in the sand. The film comes to a close just as it began, with Lana swinging back and forth on that lonely tire swing.
