“High-Rise” trailer teases perfection, dystopia
Luxury living lies ahead for the residents of a tower block tailored to their every need, as Tom Hiddlestone, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Miller star in 2016 film “High-Rise.”
With its first trailer narrated by Tom Hiddlestone, the next Ben Wheatley film is here to sell its vision of J. G. Ballard’s 1975 novel.
“High-Rise” and its aspirational tower block contain everything its residents could desire in their search for a better, more exclusive life.
But it doesn’t take long for a feeling of unease to seep into the promotional reel.
Wheatley directs from a script provided by his wife, award-winning Amy Jump, having come up through British comedy programmes “Time Trumpet” and “Modern Toss” before a transition into film most recently evidenced by 17th-century horror “A Field In England.”
The BFI-backed film made its world premiere at September’s Toronto International Film Festival to a positive reception; a UK release has been announced for March 18, 2016 by StudioCanal, with French distribution set for April 6 and international dates to follow.
