‘Fast and Furious 6’ extended first look [movies]

Technological advancement can erase the visceral thrill of action, substituting complex gadgetry for raw skill and danger. But sometimes, you get to see Vin Diesel drive a muscle car through an exploding cargo jet. After an initial Super Bowl trailer, a longer look at Fast and Furious 6 has been released, presenting what’s essentially a hyper-condensed, three-minute action movie.
The filmmakers quickly explain a number of crucial plot points — for one thing, Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s characters will go up against “an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers” — but we’re fairly sure that’s mostly to allow our brains to dispense with speculation and focus more fully on the glorious barrage of set pieces provided.
