Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them [review]

The much anticipated Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them has finally been released and I have to say I was not disappointed. The story of Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne), as he run around New York saving creatures and in turn saves it, is captured with beautiful visuals and truly fantastic beasts.

My only problem was how the first is connected to the latter; I felt there was a bit of a weak point there. But with that aside we have a very interesting story and an amazing cast.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a 2016 British fantasy film directed by David Yates and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. A spin-off prequel of the Harry Potter film series, the film was produced and written by J. K. Rowling (in her screenwriting debut), inspired by her book of the same name.

The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander with Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo and Colin Farrell in supporting roles. It is the first instalment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and the ninth in J. K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.

Rated: 8.5/10
