ELO are playing this year’s Glastonbury Sunday
Jeff Lynne’s ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) has been named as the band playing the famous ‘legends’ slot at the 2016 Glastonbury Festival.
BBC Radio 2 announced the news, which the festival’s organizer Emily Eavislater confirmed via Twitter, saying: “Yes! ELO are playing this year’s Glastonbury Sunday teatime slot. Can’t wait!”
The group, which saw 27 Top 40 hits between 1972 and 1986, follows in the footsteps of Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton and Shirley Bassey in playing the slot.
Glastonbury Festival will run from June 22-26. The full lineup has yet to be announced.
