DANISH ARAB URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL
The Danish Centre for Culture and Development (DCCD), The Danish Embassy in Beirut & “Tarte aux Poires” Within the framework of the Danish EU Presidency, Present: THE DANISH-ARAB URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL
On February 25
Solea 5 – Sin el Fil (previously know as: Warehouse and Loft)
Provide an opportunity and a platform for progressive underground artists and cultural activists in the Levant region for exchanges and free artistic expressions.
There will be a range of artistic performances and exhibitions combined with interactive sessions – workshops, small competitions, libraries, culture café´s etc. for the audience – and the festival will thus range from broader arts and culture exercises in day time, to late night DJ-séances.
A number of dedicated Danish artists will also participate in the event. The aim is not promote Danish art as such – as this is in its essence an Arab Underground arts festival – but to give inspiration to their local partners and establishing unique joint productions and artistic “cross-overs” of high quality. Thus, the Danish input, will contribute to making the event more spectacular, and show practical examples of the richness and relevance of culture cooperation.
