Blended 2015 in Dubai
After the success of the inaugural festival in 2014, Done Events has announced the return of Blended on Thursday 30th April and Friday 1st May 2015.
Thursday see’s British rockers Kasabian take to the stage. Their music has won them many awards, most recently with the band picking up two awards at the NME awards for Best British Band and Best Rock Album. Their live performances are electrically charged with one of the most memorable being as headliners at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival. Their Blended performance comes ‘with strings’ essentially a classically trained string quartet in the line up, adding to the uniqueness of their Blended set.
Joining Kasabian is songstress Jessie Ware. With soulful, melancholy vocals and effortlessly elegant songwriting skills, Jessie’s outstanding debut album “Devotion” has ensured that she has become one of 2014’s breakout new artists With a style that combines the ultra-modern feel of down tempo R&B and British electronic music with the melodrama of classic stars like Sade and Whitney Houston, Jessie is expected to be one of Blended’s must see acts.
Thursday’s line up kicks off with a stripped down sundowner acoustic set from Craig David. During his ten-year career he has sold over 13 million albums, enjoyed 13 Top Ten hits and achieved multi-platinum status in more than 20 countries.
Things get funky on Friday with Kool & the Gang taking to the stage. Having sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations, thanks to songs like “Celebration”, “Cherish” and “Ladies Night” amongst others earning the band two Grammy Awards, 31 gold and platinum albums in the process. Their bulletproof funk and jazz arrangements have also made them the most sampled band of all time.
Joining Kool and The Gang is Robin Thicke. Whilst many will know him for his 2013 smash hit ‘Blurred Lines’ which reached Number One in over 80 countries, Thicke is no one hit wonder, with 5 albums under his belt and a great soulful back catalogue his set will ease you into a Friday night festival vibe.
Completing Friday’s line up are chart newcomers Nico & Vinz. Hailing from Oslo, Norway, the singing/songwriting duo, made up of Nico Sereba and Vincent Dery, has tapped into the heart of global culture by writing and performing radio friendly songs such as “Am I Wrong” and “In Your Arms”.
Further artists will be announced, including those performing at the Jazz at Pizza Express Garden. Festival goers can also expect an up-scale food and beverage offer and the Promenade Boutique market place along with other festival attractions.
Children under 12 needs to be accompanied by an adult.
