“Where Have You Been” is a song by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, from her sixth studio album Talk That Talk (2011). It was written by Ester Dean, Henry Walter, Geoff Mack, Lukasz Gottwald and Calvin Harris. The production of the song was helmed by Gottwald under his stage name Dr. Luke together with Harris and Cirkut. It will be released as the fifth US single and the third international single of the album on May 8, 2012. “Where Have You Been” received positive reviews from music critics, who complimented its up-tempo dance beat and likened it to the lead single of the album, “We Found Love”. Upon the release of the album, the song debuted on the Irish and UK singles charts at numbers 47 and 61 respectively, and at number 8 on the UK Dance Chart on the strength of digital downloads alone. It also debuted at number 65 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with sales of 39,000 copies.
